READING & LANGUAGE ARTS
Students will be conducting quality research using text, internet, and personal interviews. Emphasis will be placed on becoming critical researchers by:
-integrating various perspectives
-summarizing & paraphrasing
-writing (editing & revising) energy campaigns
-determining validity of informational sources

MATH
Students will apply math concepts such as money, percentages, measurement conversions, and create graphs and charts in their energy campaigns as a way of providing evidence for their claims.
SCIENCE
Hands-on investigations that explore the various types of alternative energy.
SOCIAL STUDIES
Service learning that requires students to take action against global warming.
PUBLIC SPEAKING
Opportunities for presenting and speaking will be built into the curriculum throughout the summer. Examples include debates and multimedia energy campaign projects.
TECHNOLOGY
Creation of multimedia presentations (websites, PowerPoint slideshows, videos, podcasts etc.)
